I really like to think that. I may have not been the happiest person in the world for the past year, but I have made huge strides in myself as a person and I continue too.  I have met some wonderful people along the way that I am grateful for.  All I am waiting for now is that point when it becomes all clear because right now everything is still very blury.

I do agree. It's hard to understand it sometimes, or to feel like something good will come of a situation that seems so terrible, but I always feel like there are things thrown in my path for a reason... even if the reason takes me years to discover.  Smiley

I completely agree. I wouldn't be the person I am today had I not gone through what I've been through. And I wouldn't have my two wonderful little boys. I wouldn't change a thing.

I'm a bit more cynical, I fear.  I am a romantic, a lover....but I've never experienced anything that would make me believe that there's such a thing as destiny, fate or some greater purpose to life.  Quite the contrary...too many things have given me cause to believe that our destinies and fates are of our own making.

Having said that, we can either drive ourselves to a destination, or be driven.  Yes, others can run us off of the road, but that's not fate or destiny....that's their choice.

Absolutely everything happens for a reason!

If it wasn't for my (very) stbx I wouldn't be living in this gorgeous house or have my wonderful dogs.  Through this divorce process I have grown more confident and developed a maturity I didn't have before.  I now have greater empathy towards others.

As painful as this is, I am thankful for all the ways I have grown because I had to go through this.  I feel like now I will be ready for a healthy, mature kind of love.
