We went to the Shriner's Clinic this morning and I am feeling a bit overwhelmed.  B did fine, his scoliosis (sp) is under control other than some minor back pain and doesn't need any further treatment unless it gets worse.

They think J has a connective tissue disorder and I need to schedule an appointment with his regular dr for thorough testing, Marfan (sp) syndrome was mentioned.  They are also trying to get him into the "Gait Clinic" at the main hospital because he is still having issues with walking.

I hope everything goes well with your kids, TNT.  I know how difficult it can be for young ones with scholiosis.  My cousin had it taken care of with a brace when he was younger, but it was no easy road to travel for the family.

The dr's office called, apparently there are over 100 connective tissue disorders.  In order for her to order the blood work I need to get the report from Shriner's to know which tests to order.

So much for it being "a simple blood workup."   Undecided

Thinking of you here TNT.  I'm real familiar with the 'clinics'.  Not only for myself but my office is in the ped's clinic area of our rehab center.  They sure do some pretty amazing things with these little guys and gals.

Ranking, those guys scare the crap out of me at parades.  They drive like idiots.   But, they do good work in the communities so I won't complain

That blows. Good luck with it, I'm pulling for you.

The little hat is called a Fez, I believe. By granddad was a shriner. I'm actually wearing his fex right now. I wear it everynight and get a good laugh everytime I walk by a mirror. Tongue
